Today I had the pleasure in being blogged about on a wedding blog. Aspirational Bride blog has a useful directory of vendors of which I am the only Dorset wedding photographer listed at this time.  Aspirational Bride is different from the majority of wedding blogs out there as they will blog about REAL weddings, and what I mean by that is weddings that you or I wold be more familiar with. So many blogs purely concentrate on weddings that are far removed from any wedding that the vast majority of people will have seen or know, or in fact like.  Aspirational Bride add new content every day and can be found on Facebook and Twitter. Link up with them as you may see more content from me on the  Aspirational Bride website.

Wedding blogs are a great place to dip into and get some in depth knowledge or experience on how other brides have planned their day and implemented the various aspects of their day. At the start of the wedding planning process, you can be forgiven for thinking that planning a wedding might be easy in your case, but eventually all couples discover that your budget can soon get swallowed up, and to say that your budget can get taken up easily wold be an under statement! Looking through wedding blogs is up there with looking over Pinterest which for many brides is an indispensable tool as a 21st century clip board/scrap book, but way, way easier. I am in the process of pinning details, dresses, decor, transport or just photo ideas to Pinterest and am loving the glow I get from helping other brides to be around the world with their plans. Every day I get notifications of many brides to be, repining my pins. Over the years I have seen so many new and interesting ideas for weddings. Bournemouth and Dorset tends to be a very traditional area for weddings, or at least for things like dresses and general attire, but I have found the look of a Dorset wedding is strongly influenced by the wedding venues.

The wedding venue is the starting point for the majority of any wedding plan, it is going to be the main influence on the whole day. For example a rustic barn in the middle of no where in the heart of Dorset is going to look maybe a bit odd with certain types of table decor, but with say something like vintage tea pots and tea cups with flowers this would fit right in along with a haystack being used for a backing for a table plan. At the end of the day inspiration is the key, when your faced with a blank canvas it can seem a bit daunting.

Using a combination of wedding blogs, Pinterest, and visiting wedding shows and looking for vendors who can make real your vision of a perfect wedding day. Just chatting to wedding vendors at Dorset wedding shows can some times inspire you, I chat to couples at  Dorset wedding shows and I will often be able to give them ideas and point them in a direction of where to obtain this and that for their big day. I have established my wedding photography business for over 13 years now writing this in 2013, and over those years have picked up many local businesses offering all sorts. So I can be a mind of information for those couples starting out on their wedding planning experience.
